1. What is Price Visibility?
Price visibility is a Theme setting in the new B2B group that lets you hide prices and Add to cart across your storefront, replacing them with a call-to-action button, until a customer is recognized as an approved wholesale buyer. You can apply this to your whole catalog, or narrow it to specific collections or products.
Guests and non-approved customers see a CTA button in place of the price; approved B2B customers see prices and can buy as normal.

2. Common Use Cases
π€ How to restrict prices to logged-in or B2B customers only?
STEP 1: Open Theme settings and select B2B.
STEP 2: Turn on price hiding β under Price visibility, tick Enable hide price. This applies to guests and any signed-in customer who isn't approved.
STEP 3: Decide how customers become approved β approval works two ways, and a customer only needs to satisfy one to count as approved:
- Approved customer tags β a comma-separated list (default: "wholesale, b2b-approved"). Tag a customer with any one of these in Shopify admin (Customers > [customer] > Tags) to approve them manually.
-
Approved metafield β off by default. Turn it on and a customer is also approved if their
custom.b2b_approvedmetafield is set totrue. This suits automated or bulk approval, e.g. via the Admin API, Shopify Flow, or a bulk editor.
π‘ Note: You can use both at once β for example, staff tag VIP accounts manually while a nightly sync sets the metafield for accounts approved through an external system.
π‘ Note: Turning this on alone hides prices across your whole catalog by default (Scope: All products). To limit the restriction to certain products or collections instead, see the next use case.
Approved customers see prices and can order normally; everyone else sees a call-to-action button in place of the price, and bulk "add all" actions β like the Fixed bundle and Quiz sections' Add all to cart button β are disabled for them too.
π€ How to apply this restriction to only specific products or collections?
By default, Enable hide price hides prices across your whole catalog. To narrow it down:
STEP 1: Set the Scope β under Price visibility, change Scope from All products to Collections or Products.
STEP 2: Pick your selection β if you chose Collections, select the collections to restrict in Collections scope; if you chose Products, select the individual products in Products scope.
π‘ Note: Scope only controls where prices are hidden β the approval logic itself (tags/metafield) is unaffected and works the same way everywhere.
π€ How to customize the messages shown to guests and restricted customers?
Under CTA, you can set different wording for the two audiences who don't see prices:
STEP 1: Customize the message for guests β set Guest (not logged in) (default: "Register to see prices") and link it to your B2B registration page.
STEP 2: Customize the message for logged-in, non-approved customers β set Guest (logged in, not approved) (default: "Already registered? Contact us") and link it to your B2B contact page. This covers both ordinary retail customers who happen to browse restricted products, and applicants waiting on approval.
β οΈ Fill in both links before turning price hiding on. If you leave the B2B registration page or B2B contact link blank, the matching call-to-action button is hidden or disabled β leaving that customer with no route forward.
STEP 3: Optional β customize what approved customers see β turn on Show B2B label to mark wholesale prices with a label, and Show compare-at price to show the retail price struck through next to the B2B price.
