1. What is Subscription block?

The Subscription block adds a subscription purchasing option directly on the product page, letting shoppers choose between a one-time purchase and a recurring subscription plan. Available delivery frequencies and their prices are displayed for the shopper to select from.

The block only appears on products that have selling plans configured - it is automatically hidden on products without them, so you do not need to manage its visibility manually.

⚠️ Note: The Subscription block requires selling plans to be set up on your store. Use the free Shopify Subscriptions app (available in your Shopify admin under Apps) or a compatible third-party subscription app before adding this block.

2. How to set up Subscription block?

STEP 1: Add the block

In the Theme Editor, navigate to the product page template where you want to add the block. Under the Product information section, click "Add block" and select Subscription.

STEP 2: Customize the block content

Click on the Subscription block to open its settings panel and configure:

  • Label - the header text displayed at the top of the subscription box. Default: "Best Way to Save – Subscribe & Save 20% Automatically". Edit this to match your store's offer.
  • Text - supporting copy shown below the label, typically used for reassurance bullet points such as delivery reminders and cancellation policy. Supports rich text formatting.

STEP 3: Click "Save" when done.

🔍 Information: For products with multiple variants, the block automatically displays the subscription plan assigned to the currently selected variant. When a shopper switches variants, the subscription options update accordingly. When a shopper adds a product to cart with a subscription plan selected, the chosen plan is shown as a line item property in both the mini cart and the cart page.
