Social feeds

1. What is Social Feeds?

The Social Feeds feature lets you upload social media images/videos on their storefront, creating an engaging gallery that doubles as authentic testimonials, helping build trust and highlight product quality through real customer feedback.

Merchants can also attach social account details like social avatar, username, social platform, post link, post content, and integrate the products shown in the post as well.

💡 Note: Social posts require manual upload and can't auto-sync with your social accounts. If you want to create an Instagram feed that can auto-sync your Instagram posts to the storefront, check this guide.

2. Section Components

Section Social Feeds Display a gallery of social media images/videos with rich interaction and product integration.
Available block Social Post Used to add individual social media posts with avatar, username, caption, link, and tagged product (if any).

3. Location & Setup

To add & set up the Social Feeds section:

  • Open the Shopify Theme Editor (Online store > Themes > Customize)
  • Decide where you want to place the new section
  • Click "Add Section"
  • Select "Social Feeds"

4. Highlight Features

  • Rich Media Support: Showcase real customer feedback through social post galleries.
  • Attach post details: Social avatar, username, caption, platform, and links.
  • Product Tagging: Tag and display products directly on the post image.
  • Interactive Elements: Clickable posts with expandable content and social links.

5. Common Use Cases

🤔 How to set up the Social feeds section?

Want to display Social feeds on your store? Here's how:

STEP 1: Add the Social Feeds section to the desired position.

STEP 2: Set up the Social Post blocks

By default, your Social Feeds section includes 4 Social Post blocks. You can add more if needed.

Click on a Social Post block to customize:

  • Upload Social post image or Social post video.
  • Toggle "Enable video autoplay" for autoplay on scroll.
  • Enter Social post content (appears when clicked).
  • Add Social post link (for example: redirect to original post).

STEP 3: Customize the section appearance:

  • Add a Heading (use [ ] for highlight effect)
  • Add Subheading and Text
  • Set a CTA Button: label, link, and social media icon
  • Select Media ratio: 1:1, 2:3, 3:4, 9:16, or original
  • Choose Columns per row for desktop 🖥️ and mobile 📱

STEP 4: Click “Save” when done.

🤔 How to enable carousel for the Social feeds section?

Want to make the social posts auto-switch? Here's how:

STEP 1: Click on the Social Feeds section to open settings.

STEP 2: Under Carousel settings:

  • Enable carousel:
    • 🖥️ Toggle "Enable carousel on desktop"
    • 📱 Toggle "Enable swipe on mobile"
  • Toggle "Show navigation" for arrows
  • Set "Change slides every" for timing

STEP 3: Click “Save” when done.

🤔 How to show social account information when clicking on a social image?

Want to show your customer's social avatar and username like this?

Here's how:

STEP 1: Click on the Social Post block to open settings.

STEP 2: Under Social Account settings:

  • Select Integrated social media (platform logo)
  • Enter Username
  • Upload Avatar

STEP 3: (Optional) Repeat for other blocks.

STEP 4: Click “Save” when done.

🤔 How to add products to each social post?

If you want to integrate products into the post for better sales, like this:

Here's how to do it:

STEP 1: Click on the Social Post block to open its settings panel.

STEP 2: Under Products settings:

  • Select products (up to 4)
  • Toggle "Show products on images" to overlay them

STEP 3: Click “Save” when done.
