1. What can you configure in the B2B features > B2B inventory status settings?
- Use case 1: Set a separate low stock threshold that applies only to B2B-qualified customers, independent of your regular (B2C) low stock setting.
- Use case 2: Customize the low stock and in stock messages shown specifically to B2B customers, using the {qty} placeholder to display the live stock count.
- Use case 3: Understand which customers and products qualify for B2B inventory status, and where these messages appear on the storefront.
2. Location & Setup
- Go to "Online Store" > "Themes" > "Customize".
- Click the Theme Settings tab.
- Go to B2B features, then find B2B inventory status.
⚠️ Note: This setting group only applies to customers and products that meet the B2B conditions below - see "Who and what qualifies for B2B inventory status?" under Common Use Cases.
3. Common Use Cases
🤔 How to set the low stock threshold for B2B customers?STEP 1: In Theme Editor, go to Theme Settings > B2B features > B2B inventory status. STEP 2: Enter a whole number into Low stock threshold. A value between 20 and 200 is recommended. Default: 20. ⚠️ Note: If this field is left blank, set to 0, or entered as a negative or non-whole number, it's treated as if no threshold were set - B2B customers will simply see the In stock message instead of the low stock message. STEP 3: Click "Save" when done. |
🤔 How to customize the low stock and in stock messages for B2B customers?Want B2B customers to see different stock wording than your regular customers - for example, showing the exact quantity left? Here's how: STEP 1: In Theme Settings > B2B features > B2B inventory status, edit:
STEP 2: Use {qty} anywhere in either message to insert the product's current stock count (e.g. "{qty} items in stock"). You can use it more than once in the same message if needed. STEP 3: Click "Save" when done. ⚠️ Note: These two fields only cover the low stock / in stock wording. When a product is fully out of stock, out-of-stock, "continue selling", and pre-order labels are unaffected by this settings group - they continue to use your existing (shared) inventory status settings for all customers. |
🤔 Who and what qualifies for B2B inventory status?A product only shows the B2B-specific threshold and messages when both of the following are true:
If either condition isn't met - for example, a guest, a regular logged-in customer, or a B2B customer viewing a product outside their assigned catalog - the storefront falls back to your regular (B2C) inventory status settings instead. ⚠️ Note: B2B customers with access to multiple company locations see stock reflecting the currently selected company location. Guests and regular customers continue to see stock based on market/shipping zone, unchanged. |
🤔 Where do B2B inventory status messages appear on the storefront?Once a product and customer both qualify, the B2B-specific threshold and messages are used anywhere inventory status is normally shown, including:
