Quick order list
Ask AI

1. What is Quick order list?

Quick order list is a section that lists every variant of the current product in a single table - image, name, SKU, price, and a quantity stepper for each - with a running order summary alongside it. Customers can set quantities for multiple variants and everything is added to their cart automatically, without leaving the product page.

It's built for B2B buyers who order many variants of the same product at once (e.g. all sizes of a shirt, or all colors of a part), and works together with Quantity rules and Volume pricing.

2. Section Components

Section Quick order list Displays every variant of the product in a table with auto add-to-cart, plus a summary panel for total items, subtotal, and checkout.
Default blocks Header Wrapper block that holds and aligns the heading area at the top of the section. Ships with one nested Heading block (default text: "Quick order list"), and accepts other standard content blocks (Text, Subheading, Button, Icon, and more).

Note: Header and Quick order list are the two 1st-level blocks the section ships with. Neither can be removed or duplicated - only hidden, using the eye icon on the block.

3. Location & Setup

To add and set up the Quick order list section:

  • Open the Shopify Theme Editor (Online store > Themes > Customize).
  • Navigate to your Product page template.
  • Click "Add section".
  • Select "Quick order list".
  • Click "Save" when done.

Note: Only one Quick order list section can be added per Product page template.

⚠️ Note: This section is automatically hidden on any product where "Login to see price" is applied, since there's no way to check out from the table without a visible price. See "What happens if the product also uses 'Login to see price'?" below for details.

4. Highlight Features

  • Shows every variant of the product as its own row - no need to click through options one at a time.
  • Adding or changing a quantity adds/updates the item in the cart automatically, no separate "Add to cart" click required.
  • Stays synced with the cart in both directions - cart changes reflect here, and changes here update the cart icon, saving amounts, free shipping bar, and estimated delivery time.
  • Automatically enforces B2B Quantity rules (Min/Max/Increment) and displays Volume pricing where configured.
  • Handles sold-out variants, gift card denominations, and single-variant products correctly out of the box.
  • Order summary panel stays sticky on desktop (once the table is taller than the panel) and pinned to the bottom of the screen on mobile.
  • Visible to guests, regular customers, and B2B customers alike - pricing and rules still apply per customer's B2B catalog assignment.

5. Common Use Cases

🤔 How to set up the Quick order list section?

Don't know where to start with the Quick order list section? Follow this:

STEP 1: Add the section
On your Product page template, click "Add section" and choose Quick order list.

STEP 2: (Optional) Edit the heading

Click on the Heading block (inside Header) to change the heading text, tag, font size, or highlight style. Default text is "Quick order list".

STEP 3: Click "Save" when done.

Note: Quick order list is visible to guests, regular customers, and B2B customers alike. Pricing, Quantity rules, and Volume pricing shown in the table still apply per customer, based on their B2B catalog assignment.

🤔 How to customize what's shown in the order table?

Click on the Quick order list block to adjust:

  • Show images - toggle the variant thumbnail on or off (default ON).
  • Ratio - when images are shown, choose the crop: Natural, Square (1:1), 4:3, 16:9, 2:3, or 3:4 (default Square 1:1).
  • Show SKUs - toggle the SKU code under the variant name on or off (default OFF).
  • Variants per page - a slider from 5 to 50 (default 50) controlling how many variant rows load per page.

Note: When a product has more variants than the Variants per page value, pagination controls appear automatically below the table - no extra setup needed.

On mobile, the table reflows into stacked cards: image and name/SKU on top, the quantity stepper below, and the variant total pinned to the right of the name.

🤔 How does the automatic add-to-cart work?

The Quick order list doesn't use a separate "Add to cart" button - quantity changes are added to the cart as you make them:

  • Clicking "+" or "-", or typing a value directly into the quantity box, immediately adds or updates that variant in the cart.
  • A confirmation message appears above the row when an item is added, and clears once you click or tab to another area of the page.
  • The default quantity shown in each row always mirrors what's currently in the cart - if the same variant is added from a product card, Quickview, or another Quick order list, this table updates to match.
  • The reverse is also true: changing or removing a quantity in the Cart drawer/page updates this table when you return to it.

If the product also has Quantity rules configured in its B2B catalog, the stepper automatically enforces the Min, Max, and Increment values, and shows an error message if an invalid quantity is entered. If Volume pricing is set up, the Price and Variant total columns reflect the applicable pricing tier live as the quantity changes.

🤔 How are sold-out variants, gift cards, and single-variant products handled?

Sold-out variants: the Quantity column shows the text "Sold out" instead of the stepper, the row can't be added to cart, and Variant total stays at $0.00. The Price column still displays normally.

Unavailable variant combinations (a combination that can't be purchased at all) are left out of the table entirely.

Gift cards: each denomination appears as its own row and is never marked sold out, since gift cards aren't inventory-tracked. Gift card rows are also excluded from free shipping bar and estimated delivery time calculations, since they're digital.

Single-variant products: a product with only one variant (or no options at all) still shows a single row with the correct variant name - "Default Title" is never displayed.

🤔 How to remove items from the cart via Quick order list?

STEP 1: Remove a single variant

Any row with Quantity ≥ 1 shows a trash/remove icon next to the stepper. Click it to remove just that variant from the cart.

STEP 2: Remove every variant of this product

Click "Remove All" in the order summary panel. A confirmation popup appears - confirm to clear every variant of this product from the cart, or cancel to keep everything as is.

Note: Removing items updates Total items and Subtotal immediately. Remove All only clears this product's variants - it never touches other products already in the cart.

🤔 How does the summary panel behave on desktop and mobile?

On desktop 🖥: the order summary panel (Total items, Subtotal, View cart, Remove All) sits beside the table. Once the table's height exceeds the panel's height, the panel becomes sticky so it stays visible while you scroll through variants.

On mobile 📱: Total items, Subtotal, and the "View cart" button stay pinned to the bottom of the screen while scrolling. If the product page also uses a sticky Add-to-cart bar elsewhere, that bar automatically hides while the Quick order list section is in view, and reappears normally before and after it.

🤔 What happens if the product also uses "Login to see price"?

Since the Quick order list is built entirely around showing price and letting customers check out from the table, the whole section is hidden on any product where "Login to see price" is currently applied to that visitor - there would otherwise be no way for them to complete a purchase from it.

Once the visitor meets the condition that reveals pricing (e.g. logging in, or logging in as a B2B/tagged customer, depending on how "Login to see price" is configured), the Quick order list section becomes visible again.

🤔 What other customization options can you give your Quick order list?

For the whole Quick order list section:
✨ Adjust the width, padding, or add a divider line for the section

Click on the Quick order list section, then under Section layout:

  • Choose the desired Section width - Page width, Full width, or Full width padded.
  • Adjust the Top & Bottom padding (1-100px each, default 32px).
  • Turn on "Show section divider" to display a line under the section.
✨ Change the color scheme of the section

Click on the Quick order list section, then under Style, set the Color scheme for light and dark mode.

For the Quick order list block:
✨ Change the "View cart" button label or style

Click on the Quick order list block, then edit the "View cart" button label (default "View cart") and choose the "View cart" button style - Primary or Secondary.

✨ Adjust the spacing between the table and the summary panel

Click on the Quick order list block, then drag the Gap slider (0-100px, default 40px). On mobile, the gap is applied at roughly half this value.

✨ Show a border and set the price colors

Click on the Quick order list block, then toggle Show border ON, and set a Color scheme for light and dark mode. Within each scheme, you can also set separate Price and Sale price colors - leave them blank to inherit the Theme settings default.
