Volume Pricing Table
Ask AI

1. What is Volume pricing?

Volume pricing is an optional block that displays a tiered pricing table for B2B customers, showing the different price breaks available based on order quantity - so customers can clearly see how much they save by buying more.

It can be added inside the Product information section on the product page, as well as the Product three columns and Product showcase sections.

Note: This block requires Shopify's B2B features, available on all Shopify plans (Basic, Grow, Advanced, and Plus). It's only visible to customers who are logged in as B2B and assigned to a catalog with quantity pricing configured. It will not appear for regular storefront visitors or non-B2B accounts.

Process 2. πŸ€” Add the Volume pricing block to the theme

STEP 1: Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize.

STEP 2: Navigate to your Product page template.

STEP 3: In the left sidebar, click on the section you want to add it to: Product information, Product three columns, or Product showcase.

STEP 4: Click "Add block" and select Volume pricing.

STEP 5: Drag the block to your desired position (e.g., below the product price).

STEP 6: Click "Save" when done.

Once added, the table automatically displays the configured price breaks to eligible B2B customers.

4. Highlight Features

  • Automatically shows tiered B2B pricing so customers can see per-unit savings at a glance.
  • Available inside the Product information, Product three columns, and Product showcase sections.
  • Rows are clickable - instantly apply a pricing tier to the quantity selector.
  • Optional collapsible tab display to save space on the page.
  • Adjustable heading text, border, background, and padding for both desktop and mobile.
  • Automatically hidden for variants that don't have quantity pricing configured.

5. Common Use Cases

πŸ€” How to display the pricing table inside a collapsible tab?

STEP 1: Show the block as a collapsible tab

Go to your section > Volume pricing block > toggle Show in tab ON.

When enabled, the pricing table is collapsed by default - only the heading is visible. Customers can click it to expand and see the full table. When OFF (default), the full pricing table is always visible on the page.

STEP 2: Have the tab open by default (optional)

With Show in tab ON, toggle Open this tab by default ON.

Note: The Open this tab by default setting is only available when Show in tab is enabled.

πŸ€” How to customize the block's heading, border, and background?

To change the block heading: Go to your section > Volume pricing block > enter your preferred text in the Heading field. Default is "Volume pricing".

To show a border: Toggle Show border ON. Default is OFF. This adds a visible border around the entire pricing table block, which helps it stand out - especially useful when Show in tab is enabled.

To show a background: Toggle Show background ON. Default is OFF. This gives the block a subtle background fill to visually separate it from the rest of the product information.

πŸ€” How to adjust the block's padding?

STEP 1: Choose the device

Go to your section > Volume pricing block > scroll to the Padding group > set Choose device to Desktop or Mobile. Desktop and mobile padding are configured separately.

STEP 2: Set the padding values

For the selected device, adjust Top, Bottom, Left, and Right padding (0–100px each). All default to 0.

Note: Switch Choose device back to the other option to set padding for that device - the two are independent.

πŸ€” How does the pricing table work for customers?

Once the block is set up and a B2B customer is viewing a product with volume pricing, they'll see the full pricing table with all available quantity tiers. The table is interactive in two ways:

  • Hover: Hovering over a row highlights it, making it easier to read across the tier.
  • Click: Clicking a row automatically updates the quantity selector to that tier's minimum quantity and scrolls the page to the quantity field, so customers can quickly apply the desired pricing tier without typing a quantity manually.

⚠️ Note: The click-to-apply behavior requires a quantity selector block to be present on the page. If no quantity selector is present, clicking a row has no effect.

Volume pricing works together with Quantity rules - the Min, Max, and Increment values that also apply to the quantity selector. For the full picture of how quantity is enforced across the product page, cart, and other areas, see our Quantity rules guide.
