1. What is Page template?

A Page template is the layout you build to provide customers with additional content across your store. Maximize offers various sections and blocks so you can create different templates and convey information such as size charts, additional product details, and store policies. In this guide, we will also showcase how to build some basic templates like “Default page” (to display customized contents) and “Contact us” (for customers to contact your store).

2. Location & Setup

Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize.
Click on the Homepage dropdown menu.
Search for Pages.
Click on it and navigate template options, or create a new one.

Displays the content of a page made in the Shopify admin editor.

4. Common Use Cases

🤔 How to create a page template and assign it to your page?

STEP 1: Create a page template

In the Theme editor, click the Homepage dropdown > Pages.
Click Create template.
Fill the template title in the Name field, then click Create template to add it to the list.
For this guide, create two templates: Default page (for product/store details) and contact us (for customer inquiries).
The created templates will appear in the Pages template list.

STEP 2: Create your page contents in Shopify admin

Go to Shopify Admin > Online Store > Pages.
Click Add Page, customize Title and Content, and set Visibility to Visible.
Set the Template to one of the templates created in Step 1.
Click Save.
For this guide, create two pages: Headwear size chart (using Default page) and Contact us (using contact us).

STEP 3: Click “Save” whenever you finish edits.

🤔 How to customize the “Default page” template?

STEP 1: Open the template

Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize.
Click the Homepage dropdown > Pages > Default page.

STEP 2: Show your page content

Enable the Page section to display the content created in Shopify admin.

STEP 3: Add extra sections

Click Add section to insert additional sections and display extra information

STEP 4: Click "Save".

Your Headwear size chart page content now appears on your store using this template.

🤔 How to customize the “contact us” template?

STEP 1: Open the template

In the page template list, select contact us.
Click the Homepage dropdown > Pages > contact us.

STEP 2: Show your page content

Enable the Page section to display the content created in Shopify admin.

STEP 3: Add a contact form

Click Add section and select Contact form from the list.

STEP 4: Click "Save". Your Contact us page content now appears on the store.

🤔 What customization options can you give your Page section?

Option	How to set it up?
✨ Show the default page heading	In the Page section’s first setting group, enable Show the default page heading to display the title from Shopify admin.
✨ Customize heading size & tag	In the same group, adjust Heading size and Heading tag to match your design and SEO needs.
✨ Display breadcrumbs	In the Breadcrumbs group, enable Show breadcrumbs to help customers navigate.
✨ Customize breadcrumb colors	In the Colors group, set breadcrumb background, text, and link colors for both light and dark modes.
✨ Change page layout padding	In the Section layout group, drag to adjust Top padding and Bottom padding (0–100px).
