1. Can OT: Theme Sections work with my theme?

Our sections are designed to work with any theme. However, in some rare cases (usually due to conflicts), our section codes might not function optimally with your theme. Don't worry, we're here to help! Just message us via the live chat in the bottom right corner.

2. How to use OT: Theme Sections?

It's a very simple process!

Step 1: Find your desired section on the Sections tab. Then, install it on your theme (either a live or draft theme; not a demo/trial theme). 

Step 2: Go to your theme editor, enable app embeds, add the section, and customize it. That's all there is to it!

Please note:

  • Enable app embeds: 'Section Builder Script' and 'Section Builder Style' to use the sections.

 

  • If the list of sections in the theme editor is too long to show all installed sections, you can search for "OT" to quickly find ours.

3. "I installed sections, but can't find them in the theme editor."

If you've installed our sections but can't find them in the theme editor, please check if the following applies to your situation:

  1. The theme where you installed the sections and the theme you are customizing must be the same. Please ensure you've installed them to the correct theme. If you have two themes with the same name, please rename one of them to avoid any confusion.
  2. The list of sections in your theme editor might be too long. Please search for "OT" to find our sections in your list.

4. "My theme received updates, but it doesn't include your sections."

Unfortunately, according to Shopify's standards, any code you've added to your original theme will be removed when you update your theme. We understand this is very inconvenient, so we'd like to offer FREE re-setup for you on the newly updated theme. If you need any help with that, please let us know.

5. "How can I customize the code of your sections?"

Yes, of course! As our sections work by adding files to your theme's code, you can find our code within the theme's files. If you need any help with customization, we'd be happy to offer FREE or paid services based on your requests.

6. How to install a Group Section?

A section group is a bundle of pre-designed website elements, containing multiple individual theme sections. These sections can range from headers and footers to image galleries, product carousels, and contact forms. By grouping related sections, these bundles make it easy to quickly add a complete set of features or design elements to your store, saving you time and effort compared to adding each section individually.

7. How to remove the trademark from sections?

Several of our sections include trademarks for brand recognition. However, we can remove them upon request. Please email or chat with us, providing your email address and store URL. We will then remove them for you during our working hours.

Our working hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM (GMT+7), Monday-Friday. We appreciate your patience if the request is submitted outside of our working hours.

8. How to completely remove OT section code from theme?

To completely remove the app's code from your theme, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Reinstall the app (https://apps.shopify.com/ot-section-builder) if you've uninstalled it; otherwise, please proceed to the next step. 

Step 2: Go to 'My Library' and uninstall each section to remove its code from the theme. 

Step 3: Double-check by going to theme customization and trying to add that section. You should find no related results, indicating it has been removed.

Alternatively, if you are familiar with code, you can access your theme's code, filter all files with the prefix 'otsb-', and remove them from the theme.

9. How to add a Footer section in Footer?

Step 1: Install the 'OT: Footer' section in the theme you want to customize. 

Step 2: Go to your theme editor to customize the 'OT: Footer' section. 

Step 3: In the footer of your current theme, please add a section and choose 'OT: Footer'.

Step 4: Configure the 'OT: Footer' section as you desire and hide the old one.

10. What are your working hours?

Our normal working hours are Monday-Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (GMT+7) / 2:00 AM to 11:00 AM (UTC). However, we do provide limited support during off-hours, so please feel free to leave your message anytime. We will process it as soon as possible.

11. Does OT: Theme Sections affect my Shopify store speed?

While any app adds some code to your store, OT: Theme Sections is engineered with performance at its core. 12. I see an error message when loading the section.

This is an informational message regarding the activation of app embeds. Once app embeds are enabled, the message will be automatically hidden.

However, since the check is performed using JavaScript, the message may briefly appear for about 0.1 seconds during the initial page load. This warning is visible only within the theme editor and does not appear on your storefront. If it causes any inconvenience, we would be happy to remove it for you at no cost. Please feel free to contact us to request its removal.

13. Do I need to re-customize sections when I update themes?

No. At this point, Shopify allows sections to update automatically when you update your store's theme. Therefore, you only need to customize and set up the sections once.

14. I have a coupon code. How do I apply a discount code during the purchase process?

Our premium sections are typically locked and require a purchase for access. However, during special sales campaigns or for valued customers, we may provide coupon codes for complimentary section access. This guide outlines the steps to redeem your coupon code. Please read it here.
